Burning Passion

This piece was part of a project where I created a portrait that not only featured a person who is important to me but also depicts their personality as well. For this piece, I chose to create a portrait of my boyfriend, Dom. Dom and I are very similar, we are both very competitive, love video games, and music, are leaders, and try our best to make people happy. I wanted to focus on his love of music. To represent this, he is standing in front of equalizers to signify the movement and energy involved with music. He is yelling with his arms out showing he is passionate about the music as well as showing how open he is when it comes to expressing his love for music through outlets like being in choir for many years and having the confidence to sing in front of people. Behind the equalizers are flames and embers floating up, which also represents this burning passion for music and the energy he gets from music.
